Things to do here
5 experiences our team has visited

Seosan · Haemieupseong
Beyond the Guidebook: Seosan
Wander Haemieupseong fortress, the island hermitage of Ganworam, Gaesimsa temple, the tide-dependent Elephant Rock and — time allowing — the open pastures of Seosan Ranch, one un-touristed landscape after another.

Nonsan · Ganggyeong
When the Port Was the City: Ganggyeong
From Ganggyeong Station, walk the old Hanil Bank (now the history hall), the labour-union building, modern-era pharmacies and churches, up Ongnyeobong to the river port — the rise and quiet of what was once one of Joseon's great markets.

Danyang
Paragliding over the Namhan River
Fly tandem from Danyang's paragliding hill — a running start off the ridge, then fifteen minutes over the river bends and limestone peaks with an instructor on the wing.

Seocheon · Seondori
A Day on the Mudflats: Seondori
Rake for razor clams, surf clams and venus clams on Seondori's UNESCO-listed tidal flats — Korea's first certified mudflat-experience village.

Buyeo · Gungnamji
Lotus Blossoms, Then Lotus-Leaf Rice
Walk Gungnamji pond in the old Baekje capital of Buyeo while the lotus is in bloom, then sit down to yeonnipbap — rice steamed in the very leaves you have been admiring.
Places to see
The landmarks worth the stop
Daejeon

Hanbat Arboretum
Korea's largest man-made urban arboretum, Hanbat spans some 387,000 square meters beside the Government Complex-Daejeon. Divided into West and East gardens, it features 19 themed spaces such as the Magnolia Garden, Medicinal Herbs Garden, and Rock Garden, offering both a place to learn and to unwind.

Jangtaesan Recreational Forest
A dense woodland of towering bald cypress and ginkgo trees, Jangtaesan is a refreshing retreat especially prized in the summer months. Walking trails, a botanical garden, and barefoot paths wind through the greenery, while Yongtaeul Reservoir greets visitors at the entrance.

Daecheongho Lake
Completed in 1980, this vast man-made lake supplies water to Daejeon and Cheongju and ranks as Korea's third largest. Its 80-kilometre shoreline is celebrated for scenic drives along tree-lined roads, and the upper reaches draw herons and migratory birds through the summer.
